Tag 1, Tag 2...

Narrowband and ehon tagged me with this "give a tip about blogging" meme. Like as though I so pro liddat... Narrowband is pro-er than me... He started blogging really early... but sorry, couldn't dig up his archives to confirm how early he started, prolly way back from 2004 or 2005?

Anyway, before I give my 'tip', I'd like to chit chat a bit about blogging. In the beginning, it hit everyone of us 'bloggers' like a tsunami. Wah, so syiok, everyday blog, bloghop, give comments, receive comments, make friends, meet friends and in some unfortunate cases, friends become foes. Heck, even you can become enemies with people you have not met! Have you experienced that before? H OW C O M E ?

Ha... How I know jek?? There lies in the Law of Attraction, you think? Dunno... but this always remind me of a quote (first introduced to me by U.Lee) from somewhere about the People In Your Life...

People come into your life for
a REASON, a SEASON, or a LIFETIME,
when you figure out which it is,
you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON .....
It is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

They may seen like a God send ~ and they are. They are there for the REASON you need them to be ... then, without warning, any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, they will say
or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die, sometimes they walk away, sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What you must realize is that your need has been met, your desire fulfilled, and their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered
and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON .....
It is because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It's real! But... only for a SEASON.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons .....
Those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway), and put what you have learned to good use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is really not easy maintaining a friendship/relationship and I'm sure many of you share the same sentiment. So here, I wish you, you and you, all the very best in maintaining relationships in your life.

How come I am so out of topic here??? Oh well... donch care la... Happy Week ahead!

Awards-Birthday-C-Drive Of Life

Short Yak: Does anyone have any remedies for cough with phlegm? I've been coughing like a TB patient... sienz...

rockingirl

Last Wednesday, Ms. Anonymous handed me this Rockin' Girl Blogger award. I was quite 'shy' to accept this award from her because I have not been reading her regularly. Nevertheless, since I 'rock', I'll accept it graciously from this nice Ipoh lady. (You are from Ipoh, right??) And now, I'm supposed to award it to five female bloggers.

This is not gonna be easy because I think a lot of the ladies in my blogroll, rock. So, who am I gonna pick?
It's difficult to choose but I see quite a few of you have been awarded this 'title', so, it's a bit easier than a few days ago *grins*.

Rockin' Girl Blogger Award Recipients:
1) Misha - The Youngest Future Supermodel from HK *applause applause*
2) Chen - My Sampat Partner
3) Misti - My Getting-More-Sampat Partner
4) Winn - My Sampat-est Partner
5) Huei - She's been very supportive and comments in almost all my entries ever since I met her... thanks, ah huei!

Schmooze

And just a while ago, Hot Momma Eastcoastlife awarded me with this Power of Schmooze Award. What is Schmooze? According to my reference, to schmooze means
"to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection."

I feel guilty about giving this award because there are so many of you I wanna give... But I'm only supposed to choose 5 recipients but I don't want to disappoint anyone... How now, brown cow?

Luckily I'm not stupid and I'm sensitive & fair. I wrote all your names (minus those up here and those whom have already been awarded) on a piece of paper, then I closed my eyes, use my pen and simply point on the paper, each time turning the paper a few times on the table, and here are the names I "pointed".

Power of Schmooze Award recipients:
1) narrowband
2) bibiknyonya
3) mozilla monster
4) aiyah nonya
5) king's wife

To those who didn't get "pointed", I'll just smooch you when I see you lah, can?? So, all the 10 recipients, kindly give out the award to 5 more recipients in your blog, okay? Thanks!

drive_of_life_poster

Finally, I just watched the first episode of the latest Hong Kong drama series, Drive of Life, on Channel 931, Astro On Demand channel. It's pretty interesting, I'd say. I'm sure you must have seen the heavy promotion going on Astro's TV channels. Why is this series gonna be a big hit? Because according to wikipedia, it's specially filmed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's handover to China from the British Empire worrr... It's a joint production by TVB and CCTV, and aired concurrently in Hong Kong, which means that from Mon-Fri at 9.30pm, we are watching the same episode with the Hong Kong residents.

To watch all 60 episodes of this series, gotta fork out about RM50++. If don't wish to pay extra, you can opt to wait... prolly after 1 year plus, before it comes on Wah Lai Toi, Channel 30. If don't want to pay at all, then have to wait longer, prolly 2-3 years, before it's aired on the terrestrial TV stations. The choice is yours. Gee... this sounded like a Sponsored Post! No way!!!

Anyway, good day, folks!

The Week That Has Been...

One word sums it up. Busy!!!

Nonetheless, I feel a 'need' to write to you. I had a chat last night with a friend who's in a dilemma. You know, most of the time when we feel that we are torn between choices, in actual fact, we already know what the answer is or what we want... We just need some kind of support from our peers, don't you agree?

Anywayyyy, whilst Emperor LB was busy chasing his concubines dressed in blue blue tei, red red tei, green green tei, purple tei, pink pink tei, rainbow tei saris, round and round the coconut trees, rolling uphill & downhill (and probably into the pool) after his dose of Bollywood's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, I had the opportunity to watch this classic, Breakfast at Tiffany's, starring the ever glamorous Audrey Hepburn (so beautiful can die!) & George Peppard (good looking man!).

For those who have not had the chance to watch this movie, you must be wondering, why Tiffany's? Why breakfast? Haa... Actually, I also don't know why... It's only at the beginning of this movie where Hepburn was shown getting down from a taxi one early morning (I assume it's in the morning because the place was deserted), making her way to Tiffany's (yes, THE jewelry shop). She was outside the shop, gazing at the jewelry on display, then munching on some food, which I guess, could be doughnut (or some bun), and having her coffee at the same time. So there, that's Breakfast At Tiffany's. And what do I like about this scene? Moon River! The song that has been playing in my mind for more than 100x since Monday night! Here, check out Hepburn doing the song on this youtube video that I found.

Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
Wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world;
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end,
Waiting 'round the bend,
My huckleberry friend, Moon River and me.

This conversation in the movie reminds me of Zewt's entry about girls, guys, love & money:

Holly Golightly (Hepburn) : I'll tell you one thing, Fred, darling... I'd marry you for your money in a minute. Would you marry me for my money?
Paul Varjak (Peppard) : In a minute.
Holly Golightly (Hepburn) : I guess it's pretty lucky neither of us is rich, huh?
Paul Varjak (Peppard) : Yeah.

You mean we can't have true love without money? Nah, of course not. And then ahmay told us about the story of the 57 year old lady, who was too busy with work (chasing $) when she was younger yadda yadda yadda, and now, going through divorce, and will be on her own. Hmmm... money again... Money, the root of all evil? And here, Bryan says that we can make $$ without effort, just need capital (read $$$). Everything also $$$... I've been watching a lot of E! Entertainment Channel lately and my oh my, I'm envious of people like Ivanka Trump, Athina Roussel Onassis who are called Trust Fund Babies. But of course, life ain't a bed of roses for them... but then but then....

I feel very cheong hei today because I want to let off steam. I must do more Pom Chak Chak taught by Cikgu ehon from Adelaide... Anyway, the idiotic major Internet Service Provider company already took 2 weeks to "work on" my complaint and today, someone from their "Follow-Up Dept" gave me a tinkle to "confirm" my complaint. (Apa nie??) You see, I'm having download problems with one particular ftp server located in LA. Oh, BTW, this account is a corporate account and we pay nearly RM700 every month for the 2MB line, okay. Can faint, right?? Anyway, I'm not satisfied with their replies (Each time I e-mail to follow-up, they take 2 days to reply to me...) and was thinking of writing an e-mail to the CEO. But I'm sure he won't be reading e-mails from this particular e-mail account found in their corporate website.... but you think I can get the problem solved faster if I did that?

That's all for now... cau cincauuu!

About Negative Chi...

Today, two friends blogged about Negative Chi, he & she. What is Negative Chi, you asked? Negative Chi is the person who lets out bad stinging poots. Negative Chi is the person who thinks he/she is the victim, always right and rants (like no tomorrow) and bitches to everyone, and of course, pointing one pathetic finger at everyone else, not realising the 4 other fingers pointing back to herself/himself. (Yes, I know, this is an archaic [or not] example, but who cares?!) In short, you beh tahan these Negative Chi people.

Sometimes, if not most of the time, we just cannot stand these kind of Bad Flavour, can we? Oh, and some of these Bad Chis (thankfully not much!) come from blogs & comments too. Uh huh, unfortunately they do. And not forgetting recently, some of those politically portugally piggy pathetic comments. Delete them! Kao Tim!

How else could you counter this incessant bad bad chi?

  • You play with babies or doggies.

  • You watch the latest episode of Heroes.

  • You read funny blogs like Bibik Nyonya, or you drool on (food) blogs like Aiyah Nonya. (Yes, I'm introducing two nyonya blogs to you which I enjoy!)

  • You twitter with Enhancers of Positive Chis like the Emperor, Concies M & C and the rest of the gang.

  • You go to a far far away place for a break, like her (soon *wink*)...

Anything else?

Oh yeah, I would like to thank Leon (sorry winn, it's not Leon Lai) for dedicating an entry to me just because I sent him a song which he (and myself too) has been looking for ages, to be exact, 8 years. Yes, I've successfully completed a small part of his life with this song... haha... Thanks for the nice words, Leon! You are a Positive Chi! YAATTTAAA!!!

Different Perspectives... And My Yin Yeong Tag

In my previous entry about the husband declaring his love for his wife of 35 years, The Star had a write-up about this couple, why he did what he did. Mr. Chan said, “When you have a wife who is willing to go through good and bad times with you, you have to give her something out of the ordinary.”

Most wives commented that they'd prefer big bling blings than this expensive declaration (in 5 major newspapers) and today, 5xmom wrote this, "I tell you lah, I worked with some of the richest businessmen as their employee and the only time when they openly declare their love for their wives is when they had been fucking around with the young secretaries/clerks or some mistress outside." Even Jack in Titanic Cocka claimed that Mr. Chan could be on Ecstasy when he did that!

Most (relatively) young men, women & sentimentalists think, "Awww... so schweet...wanna emulate Mr. Chan...where to find this kinda man..."

Distinct contrasts? Definitely. So, it got me thinking... Any thoughts, you?

Next, a Tag summoned by The Emperor sometime last month.

01) Coke or Pepsi?
Rootbeer, 7-Up, Sprite, F&N Orange, Fanta Grape (used to love this in primary school... made my tongue go purple...*grin*).

Okay, okay, I'll have to choose Coke over Pepsi. Why? No idea... It's the Secret Recipe, I suppose...

02) KFC or McDonald's?
I like A&W's Fried Chicken. And Burger King's Swiss Mushroom Burger. Have you tried Marybrown's? I've not...

At KFC, I love the Cheezy Wedges. At McD's, I love the McDeluxe Burger & their yearly Prosperity Burger.

03) Häagen-Daz or Baskin-Robbins?
Häagen-Daz AND Baskin-Robbins' Rum & Raisin flavour!

04) Coffeebean or Starbucks?
Coffeebean for their Mocha Latte.
Starbucks for their Hazelnut Choclolate & free WiFi, of course!
I also like San Francisco Coffee's San Francisco's Golden Gate! Coffee is the very kaw-kaw! Old Town Kopitiam's coffee is also yummy, and much cheaper! And then there's Grand Canyon Coffee... Dome's Coffee... nay... *shakes head*

05) Nike or Adidas?
Nay to both! Because I own two pairs of Reebok! Actually, I'd have chosen a Nike that time... but when I tried 'em out, Reebok 'won'... But, I'd like to own a pair of Nike's. DYK that in Hong Kong, somewhere near Mongkok, there's one row of shops selling just sports shoes? (Well okay, and other sports' attires/gears too lah...) Lotsa choices there! And the price? 2 years back, 'twas about the same as M'sia... but the choices, can't get 'em here!

06) Mercedes Benz or BMW?
A Ferrari, please.

07) UK or US?
Both! And Canada! And South Africa! And Australia! Never been to US, will wanna go one day! Okay, this is getting a bit boring...

08) Paris or Rome?
Both! Both!!

09) Céline Dion or Mariah Carey?
Céline Dion of course, like what he said, "In honour of angel & Cocka Doodle’s best-selling artistic interpretation of Hand on a Steamy Window, on the Titanic. Yeah! We did My Heart Will Go On... don't believe?? Got picture worrr! But sorry, no link to the entry @ Cocka's...

10) Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera?
I'm getting bored... a bit of both, but Christina's powderfool voice...

11) Brad Pitt or David Beckham?
No freaking idea what language DB speaks...

Angie loves Brad...

12) Dad or Mum?
FKK! How to answer this kind of question?? Duh...

13) Movie or Music?
Movie is work... *wink*

14) Windows or Mac?

Moving over... soooooooon...

15) PC (Desktop lah) or Lappie?
Have you seen anyone carrying a Desktop to Starbucks..?? Then?!

Phewwww! At last! Finito!

Tag a guy & a girl.
*not in a Tagging Mood*
