Avatar was one of the best movies in 2009 IMHO, although some critics would beg to differ. One of the reasons why it was a good movie - James Cameron's vision of Pandora. Of course, coupled with state-of-the-art CGI technology, managed to heighten one's sense(s) while watching the movie. Although I did not watch the 3D version, 2D was suffice to bowled me over. And after watching this youtube video of the making, I now appreciate (very much) the works of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and the rest of the cast. So You Think You Can Act™ Liddat ???
Not too long ago, kyh shared a cute youtube link on Facebook. It was "Single Ladies" sung by The Chipettes (yes, kinda vulgar dotcom). Who are The Cipets Chipettes? They are 3 female (??) chipmunks which got featured in Alvin & The Chipmunks' "Squeakquel". The first time I saw the 3 cipets Chipettes, I thought they were the cutest things evar...
MAMMA MIA! Good things must share share ;-) This is quite a clear upload, but the ending songs were cut off.. Oops... Megavideo has deleted the video.. dew... lemme try to find another one...
Note @ 2.08am : Yes! Yes! I found another upload! Fast fast watch!!!
1. I should have watched this musical in London instead of the Phantom one...
2. Meryl Streep is keng! Pierce Brosnan is... errr... yeng! But his voice not quite yeng though...
3. Kalokairi, the island in the movie is actually Skopelos, in the Aegean Sea off the coast of mainland Greece. It's B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!!! But it's an expensive island by Greek standards, I read... *I Have A Dream...*
4. This movie is downright funny! 3 of us had so much fun watching it.
I recently watched Knight Rider 2008. At first, I thought it was a movie. But it's not for the theaters. It's for TV. Uh huh, kinda like the Pilot episode... The actors are kinda 'boring' but the car... WOW! *sweats*
Video streaming would be here. Video download try here. *wink*
Oh, and this is Michael Knight's son woh... *sweats again* ;)

Vantage Point, a good watch. The story is told in a pretty unique way, 'repeated' from the perspective of a few people in the movie. Synopsis C&P from IMDB:
In Spain to give a speech announcing an anti-terrorism initiative, the U. S. President (William Hurt) is apparently shot. The action tracks Secret Service agent Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) as he deals with the chaos following the shooting. We see the event first through the eyes of the television news director (Sigourney Weaver), then the scenes rewind and we see it again from several different perspectives. The arrogant U.S. Secret Service and their clever tricks meets an even more clever adversary, one who seems to have read the good guy's playbook. Agent Barnes is aided by an innocent tourist played by Forest Whitaker, and there are numerous bad guys and incidental characters. By the time Barnes discovers who the double-agent is, it is a race against time to save the president, and the ensuing car chase is a wild ride. The movie ends where it began--with the television news giving a tidy explanation that is quite different from reality. The repetitive return to 12:00 noon seems closer to Groundhog Day than Rashomon, but it is neither comedy nor drama--Vantage Point is an action thiller, start to finish.
A couple of days ago, I received a letter from the bank informing me that one of my joint account is now dormant and I was advised to reactivate it a.s.a.p. Well, honestly, I have forgotten about this account. (Blame it on memory cells going down the drain, and at such tender age summore... ahem :P)
So, off I went to the bank today. Yes, some banks here in the Klang Valley open 7 days a week. Chev called me when I was at the bank and told her that I'd return her call. She was surprised to learn that the bank is opened. So, anyway, the account was untouched for maybe about a year or so. So fast can jadi dormant wan, okay. So, those of you with many fat bank accounts, faster do something about them if you had not touched it for sometime. If not, the Ruling Party will makan your $$... betul tak, Cibol? On the other hand, I asked the bank teller, what is the duration for an account to become dormant, she said 6 months. Huh?? So fast?? Is this piece of info correct, Cibol?? (Updated : According to Cibol, bank accounts become dormant after exactly one year of no transactions...)
Anyway, I withdrew some money (seriously, this sum of money came at a very, very ngam time for me to get a DSLR... I think some 'special power' is involved in making this happened lah...) and then proceeded to run my next 'errand'.
I terminated my gym subscription after leaving it 'dormant' for one whole year... 'dormant' as in, I paid but no go. Yup, that one year of subscription fees was like 'buta' only for that fitness centre. So, what now for sexercise??
U think this will work?? RM1,388... just sit there, watch TV... yeah, exercising the lazy way, wheee! :P
And while I was enjoying lunch, I read with great interest, this piece of "news" that was found on the front page of The Star today. Here's the interesting finding entitled, "Family and wealth, not sex, the mark of a macho man."
In the study, 89% of Asian men (China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan) think that having an active sex life is important, wheareas only 0.9% of Malaysian men (One of the 3,000 guys in the survey must be Adrian... muahahaha :P Okaylah, maybe Cocka also was one of the 0.9%) said that active sex life makes them man. 25% of our Malaysian men stated that having a good job is 'macho', whilst 20% of them said that being a family man is equivalent to being 'manly'. WHAT?! Get outta here! Quick guys, out with THE TRUTH!!! Muahahaaha...
Anyway, last one, remember 2004's Phantom of The Opera movie? Yup, this is THE Christine! Played by Emmy Rossum. That time, she was just 18 years old. She's so leng... came out with an album late last year and this song is one of 'em... Nice?
And, has anyone watched Meet the Spartans? Stupidly farnie! Here you go... the movie... (Here's one of the movie links, Ehon!) Great week ahead, all!
Been feelin' very lazy to write... watched quite a number of movies online lately. Not the 'download' type but the streaming type. Don't have to download wan... just wait for it to buffer and then can watch already. Very easy. No mah fan at all. Three movies which I found that are already ching (clear) :
The Bucket List (2007) is a movie starring Jack Nicholson & Morgan Freeman. I quote the plot synopsis in IMDB:
Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) has worked hard his whole life to build his hospital corporation into a Fortune 500 company. As CEO, Edward is on top of the world when cancer comes knocking on his door. In the hospital, Edward is put into a room with another cancer patient, Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman). The doctors have given both the news that they have six-months to a year to live. Carter just blocks out the bad news and continues watching Jeopardy on TV, because he knows all the answers. When Carter was young, he was able to attend the first year of college, but when his wife got pregnant, Carter found work as an automobile mechanic. Carter remembers that in one of his classes the professor gave them an assignment to fill out a Bucket List of the things you want to do in life before you kick the bucket. Carter starts writing his list of things to do. Edward sees the list and writes some other things to do like skydiving and race car driving. They both decide to leave the hospital and embark on fulfilling all the things on the bucket list.
This is a very sad drama, but it was a good watch. Of course, it was because of the two main man. Arrgh! I don't know how to describe it. This movie touches the core. The feelings. Yeah, it made me feel. What did I feel? I can't put it in words. All I know is that I felt it... good script.
The second movie is a romantic comedy starring Ben Stiller, The Heartbreak Kid (2007), coincidentally, it's a remake of a 1972 title. The synopsis found in IMDB:
Eddie is forty, owns a sporting-goods store, and is still single. After watching his ex-fiancée walk down the aisle, he meets Lila, an environmental researcher, who seems too good to be true. Pressured by his father and best friend, Eddie pops the question and marries Lila after only 6 weeks. However, as he almost instantly discovers, his new bride is a nightmare with more baggage than he can handle. She's immature, foolish, a monster in bed, owes a tremendous amount of money to various sources, and as it turns out, is only a volunteer and doesn't actually have a job. While on their honeymoon in Cabo, Eddie meets Miranda, a down-to-earth lacrosse coach who is visiting with her family. Sparks fly, and Eddie falls for her. Now comes the tricky part of breaking off his marriage to crazy Lila, all while keeping the truth from Miranda about why he's in Cabo in the first place...
No, not quite Love Actually... The funniest part is the bed scene... poor Ben Stiller... and the moral of the story is - don't get married after knowing the person for only 6 weeks. For the husbands out there, there's this phrase worth your thought - Happy wife, happy life! *grins*
But I think the ending wasn't quite an ending... watched it here.
The final clear movie found online is I Am Legend, starring Will Smith. A lotta people said that it wasn't worth watching. Prolly because most of the time, it was just him and himself, and the dog. Not much dialogue, just some in-between flashbacks and him talking to mannequins... very kesian, ok... The synopsis on IMDB:
Will Smith plays (as far as his character knows) the last man on earth, our hero, Robert Neville, a sole survivor of a world dominating virus created by man, that initially takes out 588 million people in 2009, and was originally created to somehow cure cancer. In 2012, Neville (a former scientist) dedicates his life to surviving for the sake of the human race, since he's somehow immune to the virus and those who have been infected, and attempts to find a cure. In order to find a cure, he seeks out the infected beings at night, who seem to have completely forgotten how to act human, their instincts and survival skills have become non-existent, and either takes them out to survive, or in some cases, drags them to his underground lab for research purposes, in hopes of correcting humankind's mistake.
Haa... so many things to talk about in this entry.
Currently, the craze is on Transformers the movie. Today, Die Hard 4.0 opens in Malaysia. Not sure if I'll have the time to catch it but that's not what I want to talk today.
The other night, I was telling Sis about Transformers the movie and how awesome it was, then she jolted my memory about another cartoon. Yes, Voltron! She said that she liked Voltron better.
I remember Voltron. Defender of the Universe... don't play-play... So I came home and Googled Voltron in IMDB and OMG, they are planning the production of the movie in 2008. Voltron 2008, script/screenplay by Justin Marks. You can find a review of the script here. The reviewer said that it might give Transformers a run for their $$$. DYK that in 1984, there was a series Voltron: Defender of the Universe and Peter Cullen [currently the voice for Optimus Prime] lent his voice for King Alfor/Commander Hawkins/Coran/Narrator. This man's voice is... so macho...
Anyway, here's a video to bring back the retro memories of the five Lions! Woohoo! Check out their Sword! :p

Last but not least, about My Brand. Bryan wrote something about branding here. I asked him to 'brand' me and this was what he said, "Me brand u? Umm from yr blog are u seem to be someone famous but the reason not so clear yet. Why dun u ask your regular commentors what you remind them of then that’s your brand lor..." I told him that I'm not famous. I can't write bombastically. I don't wish to be famous because Albert Einstein once said, "It's strange to be known so universally and yet to be so lonely." *shakes head* I dowan liddat wan...
So, what's My Brand, huh? What do I remind you of?
ps: Sporadic updates in the next couple of weeks. Busy like Bumblebee...
Nonetheless, I feel a 'need' to write to you. I had a chat last night with a friend who's in a dilemma. You know, most of the time when we feel that we are torn between choices, in actual fact, we already know what the answer is or what we want... We just need some kind of support from our peers, don't you agree?
Anywayyyy, whilst Emperor LB was busy chasing his concubines dressed in blue blue tei, red red tei, green green tei, purple tei, pink pink tei, rainbow tei saris, round and round the coconut trees, rolling uphill & downhill (and probably into the pool) after his dose of Bollywood's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, I had the opportunity to watch this classic, Breakfast at Tiffany's, starring the ever glamorous Audrey Hepburn (so beautiful can die!) & George Peppard (good looking man!).
For those who have not had the chance to watch this movie, you must be wondering, why Tiffany's? Why breakfast? Haa... Actually, I also don't know why... It's only at the beginning of this movie where Hepburn was shown getting down from a taxi one early morning (I assume it's in the morning because the place was deserted), making her way to Tiffany's (yes, THE jewelry shop). She was outside the shop, gazing at the jewelry on display, then munching on some food, which I guess, could be doughnut (or some bun), and having her coffee at the same time. So there, that's Breakfast At Tiffany's. And what do I like about this scene? Moon River! The song that has been playing in my mind for more than 100x since Monday night! Here, check out Hepburn doing the song on this youtube video that I found.
Moon River, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style some day. Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker, Wherever you're going I'm going your way. Two drifters off to see the world; There's such a lot of world to see. We're after the same rainbow's end, Waiting 'round the bend, My huckleberry friend,Moon River and me.
Holly Golightly (Hepburn) : I'll tell you one thing, Fred, darling... I'd marry you for your money in a minute. Would you marry me for my money? Paul Varjak (Peppard) : In a minute. Holly Golightly (Hepburn) : I guess it's pretty lucky neither of us is rich, huh? Paul Varjak (Peppard) : Yeah.
You mean we can't have true love without money? Nah, of course not. And then ahmay told us about the story of the 57 year old lady, who was too busy with work (chasing $) when she was younger yadda yadda yadda, and now, going through divorce, and will be on her own. Hmmm... money again... Money, the root of all evil? And here, Bryan says that we can make $$ without effort, just need capital (read $$$). Everything also $$$... I've been watching a lot of E! Entertainment Channel lately and my oh my, I'm envious of people like Ivanka Trump, Athina Roussel Onassis who are called Trust Fund Babies. But of course, life ain't a bed of roses for them... but then but then....
I feel very cheong hei today because I want to let off steam. I must do more Pom Chak Chak taught by Cikgu ehon from Adelaide... Anyway, the idiotic major Internet Service Provider company already took 2 weeks to "work on" my complaint and today, someone from their "Follow-Up Dept" gave me a tinkle to "confirm" my complaint. (Apa nie??) You see, I'm having download problems with one particular ftp server located in LA. Oh, BTW, this account is a corporate account and we pay nearly RM700 every month for the 2MB line, okay. Can faint, right?? Anyway, I'm not satisfied with their replies (Each time I e-mail to follow-up, they take 2 days to reply to me...) and was thinking of writing an e-mail to the CEO. But I'm sure he won't be reading e-mails from this particular e-mail account found in their corporate website.... but you think I can get the problem solved faster if I did that?
Exactly a year ago, I wrote this entry entitled Sengkor's Cow One. I just read it again and all the comments put a smile on my face. Misti, that entry had your first comment here :)
And now, one year has passed. He's still the lengjai on the blog (Ahem, SK, that'll 'cost' you something, will send the invoice soon.) but really, he's actually very comical wan. He can joke with a straight face. Straighter than a ruler (is there such a comparison?!). He can play along (most of the time). He'll pose 'accordingly'. (proof - below).
H a p p y B i r t h d a y , s e n g k o r ! As a 'present', I'll pass him this tag which was passed to me by rinnah. I'm supposed to state my favouritest food. I think some of you already know, I love pasta, alio olio style to be exact. Spicy lagi best. Actually I love seafood, most of you do too, I'm sure.

Music & Lyrics - a lovey-dovey- romantic-comedy starring Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore. Yes, yes, I know what you're thinking... Hugh Grant??? Give me the benefit of the doubt and go watch this movie! Especially those sentimental souls out there... those in lurve... those out of lurve... and those who are finding the Way Back Into Lurve... Oh, and the soundtrack is Grrrrrreat!
The 'main' song in this movie is Way Back Into Love, which has got two versions, one "Demo Version" by Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore, and one "Concert Version" by Hugh Grant & Hayley Bennett. I found both versions on YouTube and now sharing them with you here! The "demo version" is part of the movie... Watch it and you'll wanna watch more. *wink*
Oh yeah, before that, the movie started of with this SO VERY 80's music video! It cracked me up when I saw it! Enjoy!
