Sampat & Serious Sunday

Last Sunday, L B introduced Blood Orange to us. A few days later, Blood Orange was explained in more detail. Everybody ooh-ed and aah-ed.. He said, it's called Tarocco. After reading up wikipedia on Blood Orange, ohhh, actually Tarocco is native to Italy...

And then yesterday, this Sampat Doctor managed to get a couple of these bloody oranges at a local Penang supermart. So, I also kiasu lah!! I fast fast drive to the nearest Giant Bandar Kinrara to hunt for this blardy bloody orange, claimed to be supersweet with lotsa Vitamin C and of course, the red bloody stuff is some kind of antioxidant.

Of course, I found it.. AND a bonus.. 'cos the doc bought hers at RM1.99 per fruit and I got mine for...

Wheeeee!!! RM0.99 per fruit!! And the ones we got here on Malaysian shores is called Moro.. maybe because it's from the US of A?

So, I got half a dozen of these Bloody Oranges.

The iVerdict? Sweetly Bloody Nice! I suppose the ones I got must be 'bleeding' at its peak... the ones in Italy were just 'bleeding' on the 1st Day.. the doc punye, maybe 2nd Day.. *grins*

On a more serious note, I have decided that this blog will not be updated so often anymore, maybe only for some birthday greetings since I feel a bit sayang to delete it or just leave it to rot. Why, you asked? Because one of my friend (non-blogger) told another friend (probably accidentally, I dunno, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, SCAU) that I have a 'happening' blog, and that 2nd friend asked for this blog addy. I was taken aback. I didn't know what to tell him, so I said that I'm gonna close it. And he asked why, because my 1st friend told him that I have 'competition' in my blog... I think he meant The HugHugClub chups... And I've not replied to his second e-mail.

Anyway, I was not happy... Because I made the 1st friend promised that he would not tell anyone about this blog. I was very upset on the first day. Now, not so anymore. But, I'm really, really not comfortable letting my offline friends or even colleagues into this blog. I have no explanation. I just DON'T feel like it. Period.

So, that's it lah... Am I gonna have another blog? Hopefully... Once a narcissist, always a narcissist? *wink*

hello and welcome aboard. firstly, i would like to apologise for not replying to subscribing members who have contacted me. i used to be a subscriber but now it only allows contact if both the sender and receiver has a subscription. a little unfair, dun you think? do not despair though coz you can catch me at panasmel or hot...

basically, i consider myself as your typical next-door guy who loves sports, outdoor activities, cooking and reading. i also love travelling and experiencing different cultures of the world. i've already grown out of partying and now prefer to channel my energy towards keeping fit and staying relaxed. it's really stressful earning a decent living so i am prone to acting silly bordering near lunacy when not at work to balance up, lol :P

i'm looking for friends who are independent, loves sports, loves to laugh and being laughed at as well as living every minute of their life to the fullest. i'm tall but not tall enough and i have an athlete built as a result of my active exercise sessions. i guess my ears are kinda small for my size but i'm a very loyal kinda person...just like my chinese zodiac sign...woof-woof, hehe. my clothing styles are very basic and comfy while dressing up is only when it is absolutely and needlessly required, hehehe. in short...the saying "simplicity is the best things in life" will truly describe me for what i am.

Which one would you 'choose'? Yes, I'm asking the obvious :P Gee, I hope both of them are not reading this blog! If you are, I can only say... sorry!! I know lah, by now, you surely have some question marks on top of your head... Eh?? Angeles looking for ......... What?! Kenot meh?! I oledi cukup umur, ok... Anyway, it's just for fun. I mean reading those profiles! :P


Last but not least, this is a little heartwarming story that was related by my friend, Eve in New Jersey during Easter last weekend... she's the Eve with lupus...

Every Easter, we (most adults) will make/buy Easter baskets to give to kids. Its just a basket (can be big or small) filled with candies, small soft toys (usually chicks or bunnies) and/or chocolates. Anyway, Easter is not about candies and bunnies but it gives a the little kiddies something fun to do and they believe in the Easter Bunny and that the Easter Bunny willl bring them goodies.

So anyway, this year, we decided to do one last baskets for Jimmy and Michelle, they are after all 17 and 18 and no longer believe in the Easter Bunny. So on Friday, Jim and I, we went to the store and bought the supplies eg. baskets, grass, chocolate eggs, caramel eggs. truffles, jelly beans etc etc. And then we brought everything home and put together the baskets for the kids.

On Saturday, out of the blue, I suddenly said to Jim, "I want to make baskets for Becky's kids." Becky is our neighbour and she has 3 daughters under 8 years old and Samantha the youngest has Down Syndrome. So, out we went to the store again and came home and put together 3 baskets, pink, purple and green. Later in the evening, I called over to Becky house and asked if the kids had gone to bed. She said "Not Yet, What's Up?" I said, "Call me after they're in bed."

So at 10.15, Becky calls up and said, "Kids are in bed, now will you tell me whats happening?" I said, "OK, I'm coming over."

I walked over to her house with the 3 baskets and when she opened her door and saw the Easter Basket, she started to cry. Apparently, she had been so busy, she didnt have time to go get Easter Baskets for her kids and she had gone to the store late and it was close and she was contemplating on getting up really early to go get them before the kids wake up. She felt really crappy....until I showed up with 3 baskets, in the kids favourite colours.

Now, we have been friends since 2003 and I have never given the kids easter baskets and she had never failed to make Easter baskets for her kids.

The Lord works in mysterious ways!! Amen!!

Forgiveness

Earlier this afternoon at 3 pm, Eh-dee-sern Chen gave a press conference, and announced that he will quit "step away from" the HK entertainment industry "indefinitely". (It's okay wan... He still has Hollywood lah, Bollywood lah, Bolehwood lah... ) It was his first public appearance since all his scandalicious pics found their way to the Internet a few weeks ago. He looked calm, composed but clearly, the word 'regret' was seen on his face. He apologised to all the ladies, their family, his own family and the people of HK. He asked for forgiveness.

Is it easy for you to forgive and forget?

Me? I'm a pretty forgiving person. I blame it on Bad Memory... *shrug* BUT, I gotta take my hats off to those who forgave their cheating spouse / partner.

Dormant Accounts, Macho Men

A couple of days ago, I received a letter from the bank informing me that one of my joint account is now dormant and I was advised to reactivate it a.s.a.p. Well, honestly, I have forgotten about this account. (Blame it on memory cells going down the drain, and at such tender age summore... ahem :P)

So, off I went to the bank today. Yes, some banks here in the Klang Valley open 7 days a week. Chev called me when I was at the bank and told her that I'd return her call. She was surprised to learn that the bank is opened. So, anyway, the account was untouched for maybe about a year or so. So fast can jadi dormant wan, okay. So, those of you with many fat bank accounts, faster do something about them if you had not touched it for sometime. If not, the Ruling Party will makan your $$... betul tak, Cibol? On the other hand, I asked the bank teller, what is the duration for an account to become dormant, she said 6 months. Huh?? So fast?? Is this piece of info correct, Cibol?? (Updated : According to Cibol, bank accounts become dormant after exactly one year of no transactions...)

Anyway, I withdrew some money (seriously, this sum of money came at a very, very ngam time for me to get a DSLR... I think some 'special power' is involved in making this happened lah...) and then proceeded to run my next 'errand'.

I terminated my gym subscription after leaving it 'dormant' for one whole year... 'dormant' as in, I paid but no go. Yup, that one year of subscription fees was like 'buta' only for that fitness centre. So, what now for sexercise??

U think this will work?? RM1,388... just sit there, watch TV... yeah, exercising the lazy way, wheee! :P

And while I was enjoying lunch, I read with great interest, this piece of "news" that was found on the front page of The Star today. Here's the interesting finding entitled, "Family and wealth, not sex, the mark of a macho man."

In the study, 89% of Asian men (China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan) think that having an active sex life is important, wheareas only 0.9% of Malaysian men (One of the 3,000 guys in the survey must be Adrian... muahahaha :P Okaylah, maybe Cocka also was one of the 0.9%) said that active sex life makes them man. 25% of our Malaysian men stated that having a good job is 'macho', whilst 20% of them said that being a family man is equivalent to being 'manly'. WHAT?! Get outta here! Quick guys, out with THE TRUTH!!! Muahahaaha...

Wednesday's When & Why Wah Lao

When you are very ill, with eyes like cannot open liddat liao, eat also no appetite, please stay at home or eat at home or rest, can anot? Please don't follow your husband out for dinner with his friends, and then while everyone is happily eating & yakking away, make as though the food owes you the world, and halfway, lean against your husband, looking half dead, (making the other friends feel bad and somewhat embarrassed, also beh tahan-ly annoying because so sou heng / potong stim) expecting the hubby to carry you home then and there. Wah lao!!

The husband, on one hand, must be feeling kesian for the wife but on the other hand, wanna spend time catching up with his friends. So how? Dinner finished early lor!

Moral of the story, when sick, STAY AT HOME!

Why on earth do you use the same "thing" (<-- the "sucker" ah, what izzit called?) to vacuum the bed / mattress after vacuuming the floor?! OMG, I can't believe that people actually do this. I surrender... No eye see. I sure vomit blood until no blood left if next time my husband do this. Can you imagine how dirty that "sucker" is after vacuuming the floor, then you take the same "sucker" and vacuum the bed? Wah lao!!


NB - Wah lao / wah liao / wah seh / wah "insert-whatever-sound-you-want" is something that you exclaim, might not be a loud one, when you saw / heard something that is ridiculous, amazing, crazy or unbelievable.

So, yesterday, I woke up very early (for a Sunday, waking up at 9 am is soooo wrong, you know!) just to go meet this Domdom, and Liucas... and many many bitches doggies!

Weekend is here again. I've been busy, I've been ill but time and tide wait for no man... I'm here just for a short update. This entry was not planned but I thought I wanna ask you a fun question since it's Flyday! If you could an animal, what would you like to be? He asked this question and I said, I couldn't decide. Either I wanna be a bird (cos can flyyyy) or Paris Hilton's b*tch, Tinkerbell, the chihuahua. He thought I was gonna say 'cheetah'.
