February Started With A BANG!

Uh huh... that was what happened to me yesterday. B A N G !

OK, it didn't look that bad when I checked it out at first. The motorcyclist lost his balance (I think) while trying to avoid the bus on the other lane, according to Sis. What was I doing? My mind was somewhere else when suddenly, BANG. Next was, "Shit!" Sis shouted. Me? Cool only... No reaction. (Later I told her that she should be careful not to say all the 4-letter words in front of Baby G and Sis said that she didn't realise that she said Shit hehe...) Not sure what hit my car that time. So, I put on the hazard light and got down from the car. It was bumper-to-bumper on LDP that time.

The motorcyclist was a Malay chap. His number plate also dunno flew where already. So, I didn't get his number. Looking at his face, I knew he won't be able to pay me anything. Plus, I think he was in shock too. U know what he did after that? He just rode off on his bike. Niamah... Me? I was also a bit shocked but I knew there was nothing I could do, and I was a bit embarrassed to have caused a minor jam as I was on the fast lane.

Sigh...

Anyway, at first it looked okay. That picture was taken at the Pavilion's carpark. But later on, to my horror, we found that the bumper was a bit "out" of its place!! It looked fine earlier. I guess the bumps on the roads contributed to that... double sigh! So keik sum that time...

This morning, went to the workshop, they said can't do it now, have to wait after CNY. Gonna cost a few hundred bux... SIGHHH...

To interested "punters" out there, lai lai lai, today I give free number... 8-3-8-3.

Wednesday's Grr!

Earlier this afternoon, I received a phone call from an unfamiliar number, 03-7964xxxx. I thought, "Hmmm... number from PJ."

Me : Hello...

She : Hello, is this Ms. Angel?

Me : Yes, this is her...

She : Hi, I'm calling from True Fitness...

Me : *thinks, OH NO....* (Because.I.HATE.these.kind.of.unsolicited.calls!)

She : One of your friends recently joined our gym and gave your name/number so that we could send you a 7-days' free pass to the gym bla bla bla...

Me : Oh, it's okay, I am already a member of another gym bla bla bla... (trying to be nice to say NO, I NOT INTERESTED)

She : Oh, but you can still come bla bla bla...

Me : Oh, thanks but bla bla bla...

Anyway, the conversation was not my point. MY POINT is, I don't like my telephone number to be distributed prior to my knowledge. I know how these gyms work. They asked for your friends' or family members' number so that they could push "promote" their gym memberships. Same goes for some insurance agents and those MLM people. I kena this before. And I scolded my friend for giving out my number to his agent (whom I do not know at all).

To cut a long story short, please do not distribute my number without my consent. If someone asked me for your number, what I'd do is to get consent from you first before giving the number to the other person. Because I think it's only right that you should know who wants to contact you, no?

Now... who's the culprit?
*looks around...*

Who just joined True Fitness recently?
*looks around again..*

Flyday Mice Tales

No Orgasm today. No Food. No Porn. Of course no FORN. No idea what to post. No, wrong. Actually got alotta ideas but too sleepy today. Also, work is *ueck*...

So today I'll do one Tag. Maymay tagged me moons ago. Something about the best bargain I've ever got for $10. OK, RM10 to be exact. Nowadays, can't buy much with just RM10. But last week, I think I bought the cheapest optical mouse at the PC Fair in KLCC. I walked nearly all the halls but this optical mouse has gotta be the cheapest there. RM 10. Looked kinda ah beng actually... but what the heck, nowadays must really look after the wallet... sigh...

But later on, I saw a mouse that I must have... that stupid guy at the stall/shop called Agogo something from Low Yat Plaza sold it to me at RM23. Then, I walked to another hall, and saw something really CNNCNBC!!!

They had another stall at the other hall and it was only selling for RM18. Got put price tag sommore. So you say lah, CNN or not? So now I want to cheong suay
advertise Agogo Enterprise (I think) for FREEEEE, located at Low Yat Plaza. You suck for cheating an innocent and angelic Mouse Buyer...

Oh yeah... how does my RM23 "Must-Have" Mouse look like hor...

To My Blog

Dear Bloggy,

I had a whirlwind weekend. Whirlwind because it started on Friday night itself, with dinner at Flam KL, right smack in the city centre. Nope, not complaining, just that the traffic around Bukit Bintang area was horrendous. Urgh... we took probably half an hour to reach Federal Hotel from Sg. Wang Plaza.

Dinner was great. Company was good. Another entry on this dinner later.

Saturday. A wedding banquet to attend in a posh hotel, around the same area too. One of the unique weddings I've seen so far. Started with the groom (my buddy) who proclaimed himself as the "MC" of the night. A joke? Haaa, not for this guy, my Perfectionist Pal.

He gave a short 'speech' and then introduced the bride, who came into the banquet hall, rendering
月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represents My Heart), made popular by the late Teresa Teng. Twas' refreshing :) Too bad the groom did not reciprocate with any song after that... (Heard that, Mr. Groom?? :p)

It was a good night. Caught up with friends. Met a couple of new people. Same ol' same ol'...

Nevertheless, I am very happy for the Couple.

On Sunday morning, I had a date with Domdom & Liucas at the park at One Utama. It was gonna be a hot Sunday. So, I went prepared, face & arms, all sunblocked. The doggies - darn cute. If I were not living in an apartment, I'd be mommy to a Shih Tzu, most probably.

Then yesterday, Monday. Early in the morning, received a text that says, "KRINGG!! wake up lo! time 2 work!! hehe. this is a distraction in case the monday blue strikes! if it does, think of me! a community msg brought to u by ehon da Great!"

I was STILL in Dreamland, ok. But still, I appreciate his thoughtfulness. To distract me from the Monday Bluek. And how was my Monday?

At first it was okay. Until I received an email from an ex-classmate, whom I wasn't close to. A few of us initially wanted to meet this weekend. And this WOMAN, whom in the beginning, did not reply to any of the earlier emails, had the cheek to say something along this line.

I see no problem but pls do make it at a place which is less congested than one utama. What say somewhere open? At a park, where the children and husband can go and play while we chat.
Sorry to say, I do not fancy going to crowded places so that is why me and hubby would opt for somewhere more carefree when we go out.
So, i have not much of suggestions as to where to meet. Maybe AA or BB or CC have some suggestions.

That email gave me a WTF Moment™. So smart to give those 'sophisticated' excuses but couldn't give ANY suggestions. Now I remember why I wasn't so friendly with her during schooldays. *roll eyes*

I hate people like this. I call them Selfish Suckers. Damn.hate.ok. Only think of themselves. You see, I'm a very cincai person. I am agreeable to almost everything, IF it's within my effort. But when I come across people like this, I vomit blood. Told another friend in the loop that I cannot stand that email and thank god she understood what I meant without me having to explain everything. No wonder this friend (the 2nd one) was able to sampat with me during those 2 years in school... :)

And a small 'accident' happened to me just before I left the office.

I.locked.myself.out.from.my.office.

Yeah, my keys and bag and phone were inside. -_-'''

I had wanted to wash my mug before going home. So happened that today, I forgot to wear my access card aka The Tag. I knew at least 2 people were still working but they were in their rooms. I went out of the office, door shut and uh huh, WTF Moment™ number two...

*insert an image of a lady frantically pulling her hair out*

What could I do? Knocked on the door a million times, calling out to my girl inside the room. Nada... she couldn't hear me. I was banging on the door for like 20 minutes, and in that 20 minutes, I thought, OK, maybe I could go down to the security's office and borrow the phone, call her, ask her to open the door for me. But then, panic attack... what if she wasn't in the room??? Oh no... who's the next best person to call?

Call M? Call P? Cos both of them are staying near to the office but shucks, I don't have my mobile phone with me, I don't have their number! OK OK, calm down... I have my colleague's number in mind. She is my partner-in-crime. My best partner at work. I REMEMBER her number. Well, because there were some sam (3) and pats (8) in the number, so I could remember. OK, plan B (or was it C), to call her and then have her call M or P to the rescue.

But I was still not giving up on calling to the meenachi in the room. Aiyoyo... whylah she couldn't hear me?? At last, the other girl in the other room came out, on her way home. I was soooo relieved to see her! My ordeal came to an end...

Lesson of the day. MEMORISE at least 2 telephone numbers of colleagues who are staying nearest to the office, 2 telephone numbers of family members AND 2 numbers of good, reliable friends. Trust me, you wouldn't wanna be locked out from anywhere without those numbers in your mind... A community service brought to you by ME! REMEMBER!

Oops... sorry Dear Bloggy.. looks like this has now became an entry, not a letter to you anymore... but thanks for listening...

Yours,
a n g e l

Toe Woe

P1120448

This happened to my toe earlier today. I didn't know how or when it happened. Was very busy at work but at some point of time, I did notice that my toe was in pain but didn't check it out until I came back at about midnight just now. I was shocked to see this! Didn't even know that it was bleeding earlier today! I didn't know what to do, so I just cut the nails a bit bit and then summore can varnish it... Shucks... how to go jalan-jalan like this?? Crap...

Speaking of work, I found this blog where you can send in your hate tales about your boss! The blog owner hates his blog boss so much that he has started a blog and is inviting everyone to send in tales about your boss from Hell. You know lah, we as professionals shouldn't rant/scold/bitch/curse about our bosses in our own blogs... very dangerous... but sometimes cannot tahan. So, this is the chance let off steam, anonymously, of course... The blog is cipetboss.blogspot.com.

Okay, I need to sleep now. Have a good weekend!

Swedish Stories Chapter II - Brekkie, Before Lunch

An irrelevant story that happened earlier this evening...

Staff 1 : Miss, I lost my handphone... I left it on the reception table to charge, now no more there...

Me: Har??!! *thinking, "Who dare steal in the office?!"*

*faster faster rewind CCTV*
*waiting...*
*wait some more...*
*saw someone taking the phone!!!*

*GASP* Aiks... it's Staff 2...

*thinking*

Cannot be... cannot be... *although ownself not confident*

*calls up Staff 2*
*call not picked up*
*calls again 5 mins later*

Me: Hello, Staff 2, hey, just now you took whose phone har?

Staff 2 : Huh? *sounded a bit surprised*

Me : Neh, just now you kept someone's phone? *tries to "help"*

Staff 2 : Ohhh... I helped Staff 3 to keep her phone because she left it just like that at the reception table.

Me : But that's not Staff 3's phone! It's Staff 1's phone. Where did you put it?

Staff 2 : I told Staff 3 and she asked me to put inside her drawer.

Me : I see... OK, I call Staff 3 and ask her. Thanks.

*calls Staff 3*

Me : Hello... Ei, you go check your bag and see if you took home two handphones.

Staff 3 : Har??

Me : *explained what could have happened*

Staff 3 : Oh ya ya, Staff 2 told me that I left my phone somewhere, so I just asked her to put inside my drawer. But when I came back, I saw my phone was on the table.

Me : I see...

Staff 3 : Hang on, lemme check my bag.

*2 minutes later*

Staff 3 : Don't have la... I think it could be inside my drawer.

Me : But your drawer locked ler... OK nevermind, at least we know it's safe in your drawer. Thanks! *Phewwww...*

And because of this "case", I couldn't finish my entry just now. But it was a funny misunderstanding/miscommunication, wasn't it?

The next day was Sunday, 6th of May. We had buffet breakfast at the hotel. All of us were quite impressed with the spread but then after the 3rd day, it gets..... well, I'm sure you'd know what I mean if the same types of food stared back at you every morning... Nevertheless, I've 'learnt' to eat the hard/dry bread and I love it! Had to go to Ikea last Sunday to satisfy the craving for this type of bread. Haha...

Scandic Park's brekkie napkin...

Bread bread everywhere...

Smoked/boiled bacon/turkey ham,
some pâté, zucchini, tomato, capsicum...

Yogurts. Everyday also got... and I'm NOT a yogurt person :(

Mixed fruit salad and the other one, mixed berries salad? All types of berries! Strawberry, raspberry, lingonberry but served very cold!

This is Stureplan, sort of like our Bangsar equivalent, for the hip-hop-happening yuppies. There are quite a number of bars and restaurants here although we did not try any.

The 'Mushroom' is a popular meeting place here. This reminds me of a place
in Hong Kong too. Was it at The Peak? Or halfway to The Peak?
Always a very popular location in
TVB series.

Jakobs Kyrka - a church in Kungsträdgården

The scene beside Jakobs Kyrka.
Reminds me of hanami, (No, not a Japanese pornstar, okay!)

Kungliga Operan, the Royal Swedish Opera located very near Jakobs Kyrka.

What method of fishing do you call this?

We were told that some of these bicycles are "free". Huh, free?? Sure or not?
But we have no idea how to 'take' the bicycle ler...
Kikare, is it true that it's FOC??

The building with flags is Stockholm Tourist Centre Sverigehuset (Sweden House), opposite it is NK aka Nordiska Kompaniet, a shopping centre.
And right in front, TGIF.

Dalecarlian horse aka dala horse,
a big model inside Sweden House.

This couple were waiting for the Sweden House to open, just like us...

Sunday morning's family outing.
All mat saleh
babies are mega cute!!!

The biggest chess set I've ever seen!

Although the sun is shining,
but it sure is cold out there... brrrr...

One of the Royal Palace's guard...

Kungliga Slottet, Swedish's version of Buckingham Palace, I suppose.
I didn't go in but my boss did because she loves museums.

So, me & Piglet went strolling on our own...

**Addendum @ 0210, 260507 : By the way, the Entrance Fee for the Royal Palace is 130 SEK, about RM70. Yes, it's like a museum. In 2006, I visited the Tower of London which cost me £13.50, which is about RM95 and I after about an hour, I finished jalan-jalan the whole place already although the tourist guide was saying, "You must go to The Tower of London and will spend at least a day there." A day?! So, Narrowband, that's why I didn't go into Kungliga Slottet ler...

Swedish Stories Part Chapter I - First Steps

Okay, I think I should start posting 'em at least a few pictures for now. They didn't say "a picture is worth a thousand words" for nothing you know... So, take your time to "read" through the few thousand words here today because I'm attempting to do a Wingz. Heh heh...

We touched down Arlanda Airport at about 3pm on the 5th of May after a 12 hours' flight. As we walked out from the terminal, what was the first thing we felt? Wow! So cold! Or rather, so cool and refreshing! At that moment, I was reminded of the time I stepped out from Heathrow, August 2006. Same kind of 'feel', only this time, it's colder! Brrrr...

The cab driver was already waiting for us at the airport when we arrived. Took us to the hotel, checked in and an hour later, me & Pig-let were already out on the streets of Stockholm. By then it was already after 6pm, I think. Considered late evening already over there, but the sky was still as bright as 3pm. During this period, the sun rises at about 4am and sets at about 9pm.

After a stroll along the
Karlavägen 43, the road where the hotel is located, we got hungry but couldn't find any restaurant, except for a couple of mini marts. So, we decided we'd just hop into the 7-11 store beside the hotel and see what they've got. Check it out in the pictures below.

On board flight MH90, overlooking the archipelago.
(Am I right or wrong, Kikare??)

Arlanda Airport, Stockholm
(Reminds me of Bayan Lepas Airport in Penang, right Chen?)

Our friendly Palestinian cab driver. Standard rate for a cab from Arlanda to Stockholm (city centre) is 440 Swedish Kroner (SEK), equivalent to about RM226.

Just outside Scandic Park Hotel which is located in central Stockholm.

Yellow tulips outside the hotel. The building in the background, if I'm not mistaken, is the Malaysian Embassy. Yup, it's just beside our hotel.

Scandic Park's entrance.

From the outside.

Temporary reception area. Yeah, they were doing
some renovation at the original reception area.

The hotel rooms. Can be intimidating if you were to walk alone...

The room I shared with "Pig-let"...

Our room... saw Pig-let's Pink Piggy? *grins*

The artistic piece hanging on top of our bed's headboard.

An interesting dustbin found in our room.
3 compartments for 3 different kinds of waste.
What do you think will happen
if we had this type of dustbins in M'sia? *grins*

Dinner on the first night, hotdog from the 7-11 next to the hotel.

And coffee to go with it. This 'meal' is 30 crowns, about RM15.
